MICA Annual Gala Dinner & Auction
Our Major Annual Fundraiser
The Gala Dinner and Auction (GDA) has been the major annual fundraiser for our association over the years starting in 2003 and up until 2020. 2021 and 2022 GDAs were cancelled due to COVID, but we are hopeful we can have the 18th event this fall.
As well as being an important and tremendous fundraiser for MICA, it was a fun event and became one of the major fall social gatherings on the south shore.
The events have been so well-supported by the local artists, craftspeople, local businesses and our corporate supporters for which we offer a huge thanks.
A typical GDA consists of a silent auction, a live auction and a full-course dinner. All past GDA’s have been held at the Oak Island Resort and Conference Center and have traditionally been sellouts.
It takes a tremendous amount of work to stage such an event, and MICA is so fortunate to have so many people over the years that have volunteered their time and efforts to result in such a successful evening.
Much more than just a dinner…
This special evening reflects the culture and lifestyle of this unique coastal region by auctioning island experiences – the art, music, photography, stories, cooking and outdoor life.
The mainstay of the auction each year is the exceptional visual art contributed by local artists and island experiences like dinners, sails, cruises, private getaways and musical evenings.
