AGM Update 2023

The 20th AGM, and our first in-person AGM since 2019, was well attended by approximately 51 members on June 6th at the Lunenburg Yacht Club.

MICA was pleased to present a plaque to the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) counsellors, Kacy Delong and Chasidy Veinotte, in recognition and appreciation of the partnership between MODL and MICA that allowed the purchase of the Mahone Islands Conservation Association Oakland Conservation Area in 2020. MICA also recognized the role that MODL played in the recent mooring program.

Champ program which continues to be very successful. Many of the MICA island champs were in attendance and their effort in supporting MICA properties was applauded. We encourage all those who enjoy MICA properties to be MICA members and to act as stewards to protect these treasures for future generations. 

Krista Longard, MICA Director and GDA Committee Chair, enthusiastically shared the exciting news that the GDA committee is hard at work preparing for the 18th GDA after a three year pause due to COVID. Tickets will go on sale September 1st for the November 10 th event.

Bryan Palfreyman, MICA Vice Chair, gave a presentation on the MICA mooring program  developed by MICA, MODL, MOC and DNRR with much audience discussion and support. Please visit our website for details on this exciting project.
