"Sun, Cloud, Highlands, Margaree River" is a fine example of the skill and sensitivity of painter, Sheila Lewis, an elected member of the prestigious Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colours. She was one of the founders of the South Shore Festival of the Arts and a generous member of our Lunenburg County community. Sheila had 16 solo art shows and her works hang in collections in many, many countries. She died in 2013.

Painter, Brian Atyeo, has explored Canada from coast to coast, creating series of works that reflect his unique response to contemporary Canadian life. "Interval", part of the limited Watermark series of textural rock paintings, captures the relationship of the sea and Nova Scotia where Atyeo has lived for the past 10 years. His work is described as representational, with bold and confident use of colour and form. He is a respected teacher and conducts painting workshops across Canada. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and the Ontario Society of Artists. His work is held in corporate, government and private collections internationally.

Kathy Brown, a watercolour painter living in Halifax, is well known for incorporating nautical charts into her works. She is a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour. Her paintings are in public and private collections in Canada and internationally. This unusual work includes a box with miniature beach finds and sand set in acrylic. It is one of only two executed in this manner.

It is from here that he has a wonderful vantage point of many of the Mahone Bay islands from which he gets his inspiration. His watercolours reflect his ability to paint light, shadow and reflection.
